The history of Redpill

Redpill was established in 2003 by individuals with extensive experience in component-based development and implementation of large systems in company-critical environments. The founders were comprised of five colleagues from the ERP industry. The business concept was centred around providing local services involving Open Source, precisely because they had noticed that many organisations that were interested in products based upon Open Source were actually afraid of placing them into service. They had also been involved in the development of AS JBoss since 2000 and had gained some insight into a development model that also worked in practice, which convinced them that the future of software was Open Source.

In 2003, the spectrum of services was expanded to support, courses and special consultants.

In 2004, the product line was expanded with the addition of Business Application Services (BAS).

In 2007, the Sixth Swedish National Pension Fund assumed a financial stake in the company.

In 2007, Redpill Denmark was established.

In the summer of 2008, Redpill AB acquired the Norwegian company Linpro AS, laying the basis for the successful Norwegian-Swedish union that Redpill Linpro comprises today.
