The Formtek EDM Solution integrates AutoCAD with Alfresco. When uploading an AutoCAD drawing to Alfresco the Formtek EDM Module module extract AutoCAD file attributes and map them to properties in Alfresco, making the drawings searchable by any Alfresco user. The Formtek EDM module also render the uploaded AutoCAD drawing to vector PDF allowing the user viewing the drawing directly in Alfresco without any AutoCAD client installed.
Synchronization with AutoCAD can be achieved with the addition of the FormtekEDM Connector for AutoCAD. The EDM Connector is a software plug-in for AutoCAD that allows AutoCAD users to interact
directly with the Alfresco repository.
