Redpill Linpro, the digital societies builder and open-source specialist, is deepening its collaboration with the German content collaboration platform company Nextcloud. Together, they are now launching a joint SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution for the Nordic market. The service combines Nextcloud Hub, the most popular privacy-focused open-source collaboration platform, and cloud operations, service and support from Redpill Linpro's Nordic cloud service Redpill Linpro Nordic Cloud (RLNC).
Nextcloud Hub delivered from RLNC is built to meet the strict regulatory requirements of the public sector in the Nordic countries. The service offers advanced collaboration features, such as file sharing, document editing, video conferencing, and local AI functionalities.
The SaaS service provides organisations with full control over their data, with guaranteed data storage in Nordic data centres, which ensures compliance with GDPR and that no data is transferred outside the EU/EEA. The service is also designed to meet the requirements of the NIS2 Directive for cybersecurity and is prepared to comply with Dora.
The service is delivered in Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish. For Sweden, it complies with cloud regulations and the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (OSL), and can be procured through existing framework agreements with Kammarkollegiet. In Denmark, the service complies with Danish guidelines for the public procurement of cloud services, with framework agreements already in place. Finally, for Norway, the service is developed and delivered in line with the Security Act (Sikkerhetsloven) and the guidelines from the National Security Authority (NSM) for cloud and IT security.
"Our goal is to enable better, safer, and more sustainable digital collaboration in the Nordics. Offering Nextcloud as a service from our Nordic cloud is an important step in that work," says Filipa Lourenco, Head of Redpill Linpro Digital Workplace.
"Many European and Nordic organisations are actively seeking a strategy to reduce their dependence on American cloud services, not least when it comes to digital collaboration. With Redpill Linpro's deep market knowledge and their local digital infrastructure, combined with Nextcloud's modern collaboration solution, we are responding to Nordic customers’ demands," says Frank Karlitschek, CEO of Nextcloud
In addition to the service and local operations, Redpill Linpro will offer full support and training. The two companies are thus meeting the Nordic demand for digital collaboration services that enable secure digital cooperation.
In addition to the new SaaS service, the two companies will also continue to offer Nextcloud Hub for installation in the customer's own environment for organisations that desire such a solution.
An increasing number of organisations in the Nordics are choosing Nextcloud Hub, with customers including the University of Oslo, Swedish Higher Education Authority, and Swedish National Audit Office. Looking wider in Europe, organisations such the Austrian Ministry Economic, Energy and Tourism, Deutsche Telekom, Jung von Matt, Amnesty International and the German state of Schleswig-Holstein trust Nextcloud for digital collaboration.
Due to the high demand for exploring European sovereign digital collaboration solutions across the Nordics, Nextcloud and with Redpill Linpro as partner, are hosting a dedicated Enterprise Day in Copenhagen on October 22. This event is a direct response to the market's need for secure, European-controlled digital independence
