As part of the contract, Redpill Linpro will implement Keycloak's IAM solution, which is based on open source code and provides authentication, authorisation and user management functions for various applications and services.
SciLifeLab, founded by Karolinska Institutet, KTH, Stockholm University and Uppsala University, offers a national research infrastructure consisting of high-tech analysis methods, management of large amounts of research data and interdisciplinary collaborations. Today, the organisation is represented at most major Swedish universities, and thousands of researchers use the infrastructure offered each year. A central component of the infrastructure will be the new IAM solution, as it ensures that the right researchers have access to the right data and infrastructure.
In addition to making life easier for researchers and giving them more time for their main task, which is research, the solution that Redpill Linpro is now introducing will simplify administration. Much of the manual work previously associated with managing access and identities can now be automated.
– "Being able to assist the Swedish research community with a digital service that simplifies identity and access management feels very good, and it is a fine example of how we, together with SciLifeLab, are contributing to a better digital society. With Keycloak, SciLifeLab gets a modern and open IAM solution that can be expanded with automation and AI functionality for more efficient and secure identity and access management at SciLifeLab," says Johan Lundin, Head of IAM at Redpill Linpro.
