Rising geopolitical tensions, evolving data protection requirements, growing concerns about vendor lock-in, and substantial price increases have prompted many public and private organisations to actively explore alternatives to traditional software and cloud solutions.

Your path to digital sovereignty

Driven by increasing political turmoil, uncertainty regarding data protection regulations, lock-in and significant price increases recently, both public and private organisations are starting to look for alternatives for the traditional, often US controlled, software and cloud solutions. In order to stay competitive and enable further innovation investments, organisations will require digital solutions that can be deployed in on prem or local cloud environments, as well as software solutions that both give access to the most recent innovation, but at the same time create manueverability and strategic flexibility.

Innovation is vital to competitiveness

This is a movement that is not only recognised by companies and public sector organisations, but also by top officials and politicians in Europe. European organisations needs to take destiny in our hands as digital innovation will be vital to the competitive ability and public service levels for the future. In this context we can not afford to implement solutions that lock us in under complex agreement terms or expensive payment models. We need to find digital solutions that let us innovate, remove lock-ins and collaborate with like-minded.

The answer to where to find such solutions and opportunities lies within Open Source and a deployment/cloud strategy that makes you flexible when choosing the most efficient and reliable solution. With +20 years of experience from the Open Source industry and a vast offering of solutions for various areas, Redpill Linpro is the ideal partner to help your organisation set up a path to increase your digital autonomy, cut license costs and free up resources for innovation. With our experience from platform engineering, building multi-cloud strategies and also hosting applications in our Scandinavian cloud center, we are able to assist organisations with finding the most efficient and flexible operations set-up.

Digital sovereignty concept

Empower your business with digital autonomy and unmatched flexibility

To create a path to digital autonomy, we have established a concept and methodology to assist organisations with this task. The model is based on our real-life experience from helping organisations move to Open Source alternatives to proprietary software, wherever in the stack, combined with a strategic approach to further digital innovation. The model will also make sure that deployment options and cloud strategies are addressed so that you are able to make well-informed strategic decisions to create flexibility and support your business targets and foster innovation.

We have simply named this model the ”Path to digital autonomy”. The model starts with an assessment on your current capabilities, strategic alternatives, road-map and IT strategy. Based on the assessment, we make a deep-dive into various areas to investigate where there are viable alternatives to the solutions being used today, looking into a potential migration effort, its consequencies and ROI. Based on this information, we high-light a number of areas where we think it would be a good and reasonable area to start your path to increased digital autonomy and draft a migration plan. There are established products and good alternatives available in all areas of your software stack already.

Long-term strategic plan for digital sovereignty

After review and discussion on the migration plan, we agree on a migration project for your first product/platform. This is probably a smaller implementation that can be used as a PoC/reference case for the initiative. Redpill Linpro can take responsibility for the transition and migration of this first case and at the same time as driving for success, it can also be used to document learnings, potential challenges and modifications that might be necessary for further migrations.

This way we continue to build a long-term, strategic plan to increase digital sovereignty and decrease dependence on digital solutions that drive cost and lock-in. The Redpill Linpro ”Path to digital autonomy” model provides the methodology, principles and experience required to steer this strategic initiative in the right direction.
