The Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology usage is rapidly growing in all kinds of businesses. No business owner wants to miss-out on the opportunities that the technology presents and risk being left behind when competitors claim to use AI to be more efficient, improve customer service, tighten cooperation with partners or other value driving use cases.
Lots of energy and budget has already been invested in various AI initiatives that sometimes pay off, but also often ends up in failed projects that remains in test/PoC phases and are hard to scale to generate real value. Many AI initiatives are individual or limited to department initiatives that gets stuck. Surveys show that as many as 95% of all AI initiatives fails in proving a real effect on P&L and only deliver marginal effects on the efficiency of the organisation.
Feedback from surveys further points at issues with engaging the workforce in utilising AI to improve the business and ability to rethink processes using AI support. Old tools or processes are often used in connection with AI technology, which means that true efficiency gains are hard to materialise.
Other issues include access to the right data to be able to utilise the capabilities of AI and a lack of anchoring of AI initiatives with the overarching strategy and vision of the organisation.
AI tech can be more than an LLM model
Form a technical perspective organisations also struggle with choosing the right AI tool for the use case at hand. Many organisations are only looking at LLM models, whereas AI tech can be so many more things that can be implemented to create business value. Another commonly used issue is that of data sharing.
Many of the most well-known AI tools/LLM models are delivered by US controlled companies from various cloud services. That raises the question of what happens with the data that we share with these tools and how can we guarantee the integrity of our business data and our customers data?
Your challenge?
- Are you one the business owners that has seen a lot of budget being invested in AI tech, but still wait for the value of these investments to be materialised?
- Maybe you are on them that is eager to start your AI initiative, but you are also very keen of upholding the integrity of your business and customer data and therefore doesn’t know where to start?
- Maybe AI has started to spread all over your organisation with various fragmented initiatives ongoing without a good idea on how to scale, control and maintain these initiatives over time?
- Is your organisation a bit locked into ways of working that corresponds to ”the way we have always done things”, which makes it hard to see how AI can be used to modernize our business and keep up with the competition?
- Do you lack a strategy for how AI should be implemented to support your organisations business development and contribution to P&L?
- Do you see the potential in AI, but don’t really now how to get started or to get going in the right way?
- Do you fail to see the potential in AI for your organisation, but you sense it is something you are missing out on and you realise that you need to act to not get left behind?
